DAUGHTER OF KHMER REFUGEES
Starting off from humble beginnings being born into donut royalty as a “donut kid” to DK’s Donuts & Bakery, her family’s donut shop, Mayly had dreams of taking donuts to a whole new level. Being the great-niece related to Ted Ngoy, known as the Donut King, who was responsible for sponsoring and leasing hundreds of donut shops to Cambodian refugees, she proudly took on the title of “Donut Princess” when she stepped back into helping her family after college.

Whether it be the introduction of innovative treats such as LA's first croissant & donut hybrid or the birth of the world's first ube donut to Los Angeles, her knack for creativity and innovation took her business to places her parents never dreamed of. She took her mom-and-pop small business ideas and story mixed with branding and social media to draw in a global audience through social media.

Mayly has always been a strong proponent of using social media as a tool to not only create personal memories and relationships with customers but also to relate and receive feedback from her audience. She’s proud to have been the company’s one-person social media team, amassing over 92,000+ followers, before selling her shop in 2021.
